We had a snow day and Sophie had to read ‘The House on Mango Street’ by Sandra Cisneros for her English class. I am not quite sure anymore how we got there, but we ended up covered in blankets in front of the oven and she read the whole book aloud to me. It was perfect. That was three years ago. And now, Sophie’s all grown up and in college (studying Poetry and Creative Writing). God, I’m so proud of that little monkey.
I should go listen to some Nick Drake. It’s that kind of evening.
